Consultant Radiologist – Abdominal Radiology

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The job will involve reporting a wide variety of abdominal conditions including cancer and non-cancer work. There is a large component of CT reporting to support the growing direct GP access and screening pathways. There will also be specialist luminal and HPB reporting as well as specialist fluoroscopy investigations. The candidate will also be involved with the growing CT colonography service. An mixed diagnostic and ultrasound-guided biopsy lists will also be included in the appointment . There will be a mixture of inpatient/emergency duty work as well as outpatient and MDT commitments. There will also be an on call commitment supported by onsite registrar cover. Home working for 1-2PAs/week and 4-day working are also a possibility. You will work closely with clinicians in the relevant specialties and provide consultations and imaging reviews as part of your regular work.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a consultant radiologist with subspecialist abdominal radiology experience. Some experience/interest in specialty HPB/OG/colorectal work would be desirable. You should demonstrate organisational, communication and professional skills to a level to effectively undertake the consultant role. You should have enthusiasm for teaching and be able to work well in a team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Individuals wishing to apply must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and should be either already on or within 6 months of eligibility to be included on the specialist register of the GMC.

The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.
