About this jobThe role of the consultant in policies for green transition (e.g. energy and climate policies, circular economy, eco-innovation, sustainable mobility) will be to provide cross-cutting support in conducting policy evaluations, sectoral and technical studies, technical assistance and strategic support and consultancy projects for some of our major clients in France and at the European/international level e.g. the European Commission (DG ENV, DG CLIMA, DG ENER, DG RTD), the French ADEME / Ministry of Environmental Transition, and multilateral development banks.Your profileWe are looking for an individual to strengthen our team working on Green Transition, which is at the forefront of EU and national policy-making on many topics: climate change (mitigation and adaptation), circular economy, energy transition, research and innovation to support the transition, environmental protection (including biodiversity), territorial resilience, sustainable mobility, blue economy, etc. The position implies working for EU institutions (European Commission such as DG ENV, DG CLIMA, DG ENER, DG RTD, DG MARE, DG GROW or CINEA, the European Parliament, or the European Investment Bank), the OECD, the French ADEME / Ministry of Environmental Transition, and multilateral development banks.
We are looking for a curious individual who is interested in working as an entry level (i.e. consultant) for the public sector. A specific interest or experience working on policies to support the transition to carbon neutral economies is expected (climate change, circular economy, blue economy in particular). Previous experiences working for the public sector / consulting would be considered a plus but is not a condition for eligibility.
The person must have at least a Master’s level in a related field (e.g. public policy, engineering, life sciences). An experience or academic background relating to the supporting science, technology and innovation; European Structural or Investment Funds/cohesion policy; policy evaluation or international development would be considered an asset.
The candidate is expected to be fluent in French and English. Fluency of a third language would be considered an asset.
The salary will be defined based on the experience of the candidate and will range between 36 and 40k euros / year gross + yearly bonus based on performance.Your responsibilitiesWithin project teams, the work will include:

  • Documentary analysis
  • Statistical analysis
  • Interviews
  • Survey design and analysis
  • Preparation of deliverables (e.g. reports, presentations)
  • Internal and external meetings

The consultant will also be asked to contribute to the company’s business development activities (i.e. proposal preparation).
The consultant will be part of Technopolis Group’s green transition practice, but may be required to work on projects linked to other policy areas as well (e.g. cohesion policy, innovation, international development).Our offer
