A clinical position as consultant of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at – Herlev and Gentofte Hospital – is open for appointment.The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor in clinical physiology and nuclear medicine with special focus on quantitative methods in nuclear medicine at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.The advertisement for the professorship is available from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of CopenhagenThe Department of Nuclear Medicine covers a broad range of different modalities – PET/CT-scanners, SPECT/CT-scanners, Planar gamma cameras, Ultrasound, DXA-scanners, and physiological equipment as Lung function boxes, Equipment for measuring the pressure on toes and fingers, Tilt table, and Infrared thermography. Furthermore, a cyclotron with complete radiochemistry unit, which will be supplemented with one more cyclotron within the next year. The staff consist of about 100 employees – medical doctors, technicians, engineers, chemists, physicists, pharmacists. More than 28,000 patients visit the department every year.Clinical functions and focus areas of the department.The clinical work is a combination of routine assessment of the patient studies, test of new methods and tracers to increase the diagnostic value. Herlev Hospital is one of the four big cancer sites in Denmark, one of the largest acute hospitals, including the largest department of urology in the Nordic countries. There is a very high patient flow giving rise to many clinical studies. The hospital has educational obligations in all medical professions, pre- and post-graduate.Research and teaching.With the new position as consultant in Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine and clinical professor with special focus on quantitative methods in nuclear medicine the Department of Nuclear Medicine wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.Qualifications.Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine.Conditions.In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev Hospital.Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Department of Nuclear Medicine.
