A clinical position as consultant of clinical physiology and nuclear medicine at the Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine at Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet is open for appointment from as soon as possible.The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of clinical physiology and nuclear medicine with special focus on integrative respiratory physiology and exercise training at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.The advertisement for the professorship is available from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen ( )About the department The department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine conducts a broad spectrum of highly specialized clinical physiological and nuclear medicine investigations and treatments.We are a dynamic department focusing on research, development, education and implementation of the latest diagnostic investigations for patients. The department is located at Blegdamsvej and Glostrup and has more than 200 staff which includes 5 professors and approximately 30 PhD students. See the department’s annual report for more information ( ).Clinical functions and focus areas of the department The Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine conducts nuclear medical diagnostics and clinical physiological examinations for patients referred from Rigshospitalet’s clinical centers and from hospitals across Denmark. Examinations include a broad spectrum of classical and specialized physiological examinations, PET/CT and PET/MR scans. The department has a team specializing in PRRT (peptide receptor radionuclide therapy). We perform more than 70,000 patient examinations annually. Our radiochemistry section produces and develop radioactive tracers that are used in patient investigations.Research and teaching With the new position of Consultant in Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine, and Clinical Professor of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine with special focus on Integrative Respiratory Physiology and exercise training, the Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine in collaboration with Centre for physical Activity Research aim to bolster leadership in clinical research and teaching. To meet the department’s goals, the candidate is expected to oversee and advance clinical patient examinations and diagnostic strategies and conduct research in clinical respiratory physiology and nuclear pulmonology with focus on exercise training.Qualifications Applicants must be board-certified specialists in Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine, with a special interest and competence in respiratory pathophysiology, exercise physiology and nuclear pulmonology. The position emphasizes extensive clinical experience and internationally recognized research contributions within the field, including both mechanistic, applied, and clinical studies.Conditions In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet.Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full-time secretary position from the Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine.
