JOB SUMMARY

The objective of these Terms of Reference is to hire a national Construction Engineer who will develop the design and relevant technical documents (drawings, specifications and BoQs) following project’s requirements and to provide engineering consultancy services and technical support to the procurement process and site supervision and quality assurance during the implementation of works.

Responsibilities

The scope of the project includes re-organization of existing floor space to accommodate additional staff.

The major works include but may not be limited to:

Improvement of Space
▪ Proposing optimal use of space for workstations.
▪ Setting up new removable partitions and noise cancelling walls, e.g., small break rooms, breast-feeding room, office space.
▪ Setting up accessible booths for single or multiple use to facilitate hybrid work modality.
▪ Transformation of the server room entrance partition wall and room at the very back of the office into a meeting room.
▪ Setting up an office-kitchen to replace current kitchenette.
▪ Including other services such as removal of material related to renovation, painting and flooring.
Improvement according to UNICEF Green/Disability/Inclusivity Policy
▪ Revamping current electrical and heating system according to UNICEF Green Policy Standards.
▪ Revamping and adjustment to the lighting system according to UNICEF Green Policy Standards.
▪ Renovating the shower-room into an accessible gender-neutral bathroom/shower.
▪ Adding way-finding-tactile-signages and features.
▪ Enhancing the spaces to be accessible to persons with visible and non-visible disability.
Furnishing Renovated Spaces
▪ With harmonizing furniture (desks, partitions, etc.) to have similar workspaces throughout the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction project management, or related field.
  • At least 8 years professional experience in design and construction supervision, including experience in administrative office projects.
  • Knowledge on the construction law and codes in Belgium is required.
  • Knowledge on green and accessible construction is required.
  • Knowledge on managing construction projects and contracts is required.
  • Knowledge on procurement is desirable.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
