Job description

Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research,
University of CopenhagenWe are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Researcher with competence in both computational analysis and experimental rodent, cellular and molecular experimental validation of human intestinal microbiome and plasma metabolome research. The position is anchored in the research team of Associate Professor Tune Pers at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, University of Copenhagen. The duration of the position is 18 months, starting on January 1, 2025, or after agreement. Background
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is an academic research Center that pioneers groundbreaking research towards better cardiometabolic health. Through collaborative interdisciplinary research from single-cell genomics to whole-body systems, CBMR aims to transform the basic understanding of cardiometabolic health and accelerate its translation into prevention and treatment strategies. The Center’s uniquely multi- and interdisciplinary approach combines research in genetics, physiology and pharmacology, to better understand the complex interplay of the many factors that drive cardiometabolic disease. We are looking for a highly experienced Researcher with the following competencies and qualifications:

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational and experimental biology
  • Minimum of at least three years of postdoc experience within bioinformatics, computational and experimental biology
  • Extensive knowledge of microbiomics and metabolomics
  • Long-term and advanced wet-lab experience in animal-, cellular and molecular experimentation within the space of metabolism
  • The ability to interpret and communicate microbiome and metabolome results in a physiological and clinical setting
  • Proven track record showing internationally exceptional scientific productivity in peer reviewed journals.
