Description departmentAegon’s Global Compliance team supports Aegon in being compliant with applicable laws, regulations and reasonable expectations of society at large by ensuring that it does the right things, the right way with integrity. This entails that every employee within Aegon respects the letter and spirit of applicable laws, regulations, as well as policies, standards and the Aegon Code of Conduct.The Compliance function as a second line global function assists Aegon’s senior management, the first line of Aegon, in this responsibility. As a second line function the Compliance function is among others responsible for:
- Developing the policies and guidance for the specific compliance risk and control area;
- Objectively challenging the execution, management and control processes and coordinate the reporting of risks and controls by the first line.
Purpose of the jobThe Compliance Officer (Regulatory) will work closely with the Senior Compliance Officer (Regulatory) on an extensive and varied number of tasks in the field of regulatory change management monitoring (e.g. identify new and changed regulations, assign the implementation responsibility of new regulatory requirements, execute compliance reviews, perform management reporting etc.). You will be part of Aegon’s Global Compliance team, which in addition to regulatory change management monitoring, is involved in numerous other Compliance topics (e.g. Customer Conduct, Financial Crime, Market Conduct, Employee Conduct, Organizational Conduct, Training & Awareness etc.). In addition, the role of Compliance Officer (Regulatory) will also include supporting Group Legal and the Digital and Privacy Office with advising on new regulatory events and changes that have impact at Aegon Corporate Center. Therefore, you will also closely work with colleagues at Group Legal and the Digital and Privacy Office at the various stages of the regulatory end-to-end process. Moreover, you will be involved in a broad range of regulations, varying from prudential regulatory requirements, ESG-related legislation to regulations with a privacy, data, or information security component, and other regulationsRole and ResponsibilitiesExecution
- Execute the regulatory change management monitoring process for Aegon Corporate Center Advise on new regulatory events and changes that have impact at Aegon Corporate Center in close cooperation with Group Legal and the Digital and Privacy Office
- Contribute to the realization of the Global Compliance (Annual) Plan
- Contribute on behalf of Compliance to projects at Aegon Corporate Center (e.g. Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Bermuda Monetary Authority’s reporting requirements etc.)
Monitoring
- Monitor regulatory implementation projects and initiatives at Aegon Corporate Center for compliance assurance purposes (e.g. by executing compliance reviews, checks, regular participation in project meetings etc.)
- Signal emerging compliance risks
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate the global regulatory change management process and tool, which includes the onboarding of new entities
- Contribute to managing the relationship with Aegon Business units, Global functions based in Corporate Center, and software service providers etc.
- Align regulatory change initiatives that have joint impact at multiple departments or Aegon Business units
Operational Excellence
- Assess new regulatory change management solutions and identify optimization areas (e.g. making use of Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence)
- Maintain governance and business process documentation

Education:
- Regulatory, Compliance, or Audit related professional qualification or other relevant professional qualification.
Experience:Minimum 5 years of Regulatory, Compliance, or Audit experience in the financial services environment, preferably in the Insurance or Asset Management sectors.
