If so, we welcome you to join us as a Senior Counsel for Competition Law.Read more and apply today for a life-changing career.The positionAs our Competition Law, Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for developing and driving global compliance programs, handling external and internal investigations, and advising on commercial strategies impacted by competition laws.Additionally, you are expected to advise and make recommendations independently, managing day-to-day matters and cases within legislative requirements, external legal opinions, internal guidelines, and risk management principles. Decisions on strategy, high risks, investigations, and litigation cases are expected to be taken in consultation with external counsel and VP Legal Compliance and Operations.Some of your responsibilities will be to:
- Develop global compliance strategies and action plans, engaging with stakeholders globally to ensure their implementation, including creating global policies, trainings, and compliance processes, as well as identifying relevant trends and managing risks.
- Lead the Competition Law network by organizing regular meetings, sharing best practices, and promoting engaged communication to drive the global compliance initiatives.
- Steer the process and provide strategic advice for cases globally, ensuring a globally aligned approach to strategic matters, covering external and internal investigations, industry sector inquiries, administrative and court competition law litigation.
- Offer legal guidance on high-risk commercial strategies, business development, and merger control cases, driving the gathering and review of relevant input regarding the entire NN group.
- Drive global compliance programs and initiatives to protect the business from investigations and fines from regulatory authorities, requiring constant monitoring of legislative changes or new enforcement trends on a global basis and identifying necessary changes and ways of implementing them.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Academic background in Law
- Comprehensive legal knowledge of the practice areas as well as understanding of other legal areas, including intellectual property, contracts, public & private international law. Experience of working with investigations by authorities and/or litigation.
- Practical experience from either private practice, another international company or a competition law authority. To have experience with competition law is a must for this role.
- Understanding of international legal systems, EU legal system, US legal system, as well as differences between legal systems worldwide.
The ideal candidate should possess a balance of big picture thinking and attention to detail to provide comprehensive yet concise solutions for NN. They should also demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing strategies, and maintain an open-minded and positive attitude towards diverse cultures. Additionally, they should have strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to drive processes and projects while fostering relationships in a global environment.You are fluent in written and spoken English.About the DepartmentYou will be part of the Global Legal and Compliance Operations, working closely with key stakeholders including the SVP of Legal and General Counsel, Litigation and Business Development HQ teams, IO L&C teams, GLIPS HQ, and NNI lawyers involved in competition law cases. Our team collaborates with competition authorities worldwide, industry and peer associations (including EFPIA), Novo Nordisk related or third parties (e.g., Novo Holdings or distributors), and external legal counsel.
