Offer DescriptionThe Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Monika Bąk, PhD, DSc, Professor at the University of Gdańsk, on the authority of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, announces a competition for the position of Assistant Professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the Department of International Business.The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set out in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended) and in the Statute of the University of Gdańsk of 13 June 2019.DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF TENDERS: 10 July 2024, 12.00 p.m.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 100% full-time, fixed-term employment contract (two academic years, with the possibility of extending the contract); the amount of remuneration – according to the Remuneration Regulations of the University of Gdańsk.DEADLINE FOR ADJUDICATING THE COMPETITION: until July 26, 2024.Key words: international economic relations, foreign trade, trade policy, foreign markets, statistical analysis.Requirements:– completed master’s degree studies in economics;– a doctoral degree in economics or in the field of social sciences in economics and finance, or in management sciences;– specific interests in issues related to international economic relations;– experience in teaching at the academic level in the field of economics, finance or management sciences;– specific interests in issues related to international economic relations;– experience in teaching at the academic level in the field of economics, finance or management sciences;– knowledge of Polish and English to a degree enabling the preparation and conduct of classes and the preparation of scientific publications in these languages;– documented organizational and scientific activity;– preparation to conduct empirical research using statistical analysis (experience in this field is welcome);– knowledge of statistical software;– documented original scientific achievements in peer-reviewed journals, including in English, or authorship/co-authorship of a monograph;– active participation in scientific life, manifested in particular in cooperation in the preparation of publications, scientific projects and in speeches at international and national conferences and symposia;– independence in research work, ability to work in a team, willingness to improve scientific and didactic skills;– predispositions to scientific and didactic work.Candidates entering the competition are asked to submit the following documents to the Department of International Business, Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk, Armii Krajowej 119/121, 81-824 Sopot, room A 332 (contact: tel. 058 523 14 90 or e-mail: ) the following documents:1/ Application for employment (addressed to the Rector of the University of Gdańsk)2/ Personal questionnaire for the person applying for employment(available at: )3/ Copy of the diploma of obtaining the degree of doctor of economic sciences4/ Information on scientific and didactic achievements5/ Declaration of active knowledge of English with an appropriate certificate6/ Declaration of readiness to conduct classes in a foreign languageIf there are any deficiencies in the submitted documents or if there is a need to obtain additional information about the candidate, the Selection Committee will call on the candidates to complete them within a maximum of 7 days.Organizer of the competition:– will contact selected people who will submit application documents.
