We believe that communication plays a significant role in achieving our goals.We are currently looking for a 12-month maternity cover to join our Public Relations team and help raise awareness of our activities.In this role, you will primarily be covering the Foundation’s health-related activities. In these, the Foundation supports projects that can increase knowledge about human health and disease and help develop solutions to improve healthcare and tackle major global health and societal challenges. Key topics include cardiometabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, regenerative medicine, infectious diseases, as well as the growing problem of bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics.The ideal candidate has an interest in these fields and experience with communicating research or other complex subjects to a wider audience as well as experience with independently running larger projects and coordinating with external partners.We work together with colleagues across the Novo Nordisk Foundation as well as our investment company, Novo Holdings, which invests in life science companies that contribute to creating a healthier planet.The job
As Communications Specialist, you will work to develop stories and produce them in various formats. You will primarily work with the following tasks:

  • Produce press releases, films, op-eds and other content for various platforms, including social media.
  • Formulate and execute communication plans to ensure that stories reach the right audiences in Denmark and internationally.
  • Collaborate on and lead projects with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help position spokespersons in the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Holdings as thought leaders on selected topics.
  • Contribute to our efforts of building a strong presence in international media.

The Public Relations team comprises 9 members, of which 7 are located in Copenhagen, 1 in Boston and 1 in Singapore. The team services both the Foundation and Novo Holdings and is part of the Foundation’s Corporate Affairs department, which also includes a Public Affairs team and a Design and Digital Media team.At the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we offer a committed and professional workplace in which we emphasise ensuring that our colleagues thrive, are challenged and have opportunities to develop their potential. It is important that you know how to capture the interest of Danish as well as international media, as we are aiming to raise our international profile.Furthermore, we expect that you have:

  • A master’s degree within communications, journalism or similar.
  • Experience working with media and news distribution, e.g. as a journalist or in a communications department in a company, organisation, or public relations agency.
  • Experience collaborating with external stakeholders and preferably within science or other knowledge-intensive subjects.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written. An intermedia or higher level of Danish is also required.
  • The ability to confidently drive processes and projects.
