Location: Kings Cross, London (Tuesdays-Thursdays – 3 days in our office, Monday + Friday – anywhere)

If that sounds fun, come and build ARIA with us.Learn more about how we work .Role SummaryWe are seeking a Communications & Marketing Manager with a strong background in research and science to join our team. Reporting into our Comms & Engagement Lead and working closely with our Director of Comms & Engagement, your expertise in science communications will play a pivotal role in elevating ARIA’s presence in the R&D ecosystem, promoting our research across key stakeholder groups, and building our brand.What you’ll doThe scope of the role will evolve as ARIA continues to grow, but will broadly involve the following:1. Support the creation and execution of ARIA’s content strategy to bring to life our research areas and the work of our Programme Directors:+ Identify strategic messaging opportunities and develop associated communications around a set of ARIA’s opportunity spaces, providing guidance and support to Programme Directors across the lifecycle of their programmes.+ Work closely with the programme teams to develop compelling stories and formats tailored to resonate with the R&D and scientific community for ARIA channels including social media posts, newsletters, blogs, podcasts, website and presentations.+ Capture activity taking place within ARIA opportunity spaces and programmes; plan, commission and edit content that spotlights what our Programme teams are working on; source stories from our R&D Creators to evidence the impact of our funded research for internal and external channels.+ Support the induction of ARIA’s second cohort of Programme Directors.2. Help ensure ARIA’s presence at owned and external events drive distinction and deliver an excellent attendee experience:+ Assist in planning and executing events, including webinars, conferences, with a keen eye on the unique needs of R&D audiences.+ Work with the programme teams as they plan and execute programmatic workshops and R&D Creator events.+ Build a calendar of priority R&D and scientific events for ARIA team members to attend and help secure speaking engagements.+ Draft speaking points and briefing materials ahead of event participation.3. Facilitate the amplification of ARIA’s research areas and progress amongst the R&D ecosystem, from universities to industry:+ Work with the Comms and Marketing Lead to engage key influencers, partners, and platforms relevant to each Programme Director and develop strategies to leverage them effectively.+ Assist in the maintenance of the communications’ stakeholder database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date contacts across R&D stakeholders for teams.Who you areA successful candidate will bring many of the following skills/experience to the role:

  • You bring a breadth of experience in science communications or technical writing, gained through roles in research institutions, start ups, scientific publications, specialised communications agencies, or similar.
  • You hold a degree in a scientific field, or equivalent experience translating complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.
  • You have a strong understanding of the UK R&D landscape and are excited about creating new connections.
  • You are a creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and communication. You excel at transforming technical research into compelling narratives, with a proven track record of creating engaging digital content (short and long-form) for both specialist and general audiences.
  • Excellent admin/project management skills with exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling scientific/technical information.
  • Quick learner and highly adaptable to new channels and tools.
  • A team player excited about contributing in a fast-paced, early-stage startup work environment.
  • Passionate about leveraging science to improve the world, highly motivated by the opportunity to build an iconic brand within the scientific community.
