ASN is the world leader for the delivery of turnkey submarine networks. ASN provides a full set of services and product manufacturing, working closely with an ecosystem of suppliers for 900+ M€ of yearly spend. ASN Purchasing Organisation is in charge of the sourcing strategy, working in close collaboration with Project Management, Industrial and Marine Organisations. Description of the assignment: The position is available within the Procurement department, specifically in the production procurement team. The incumbent will be responsible for a portfolio of suppliers As commodity manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: Initiating procurement requests (including technical specifications). Negotiating prices and commercial terms. Entering associated prices into SAP. Establishing contracts to optimize procurement costs, secure supply, and reduce delivery times (just-in-time). Exploring new suppliers to address the evolution of ASN products, in coordination with the Technical Department. Monitoring the qualification and introduction of new suppliers in collaboration with the Technical and Supplier Quality Departments. Creating new suppliers in SAP (SRM). Maintaining supplier data for existing accounts in SAP (SRM). Supporting production: managing supplier quality returns in conjunction with the Supplier Quality team, production anomalies, shortages. Organizing and conducting “Supplier Business Reviews” with key suppliers. Managing supplier risk through diversification or rationalization as per the context. Managing invoice disputes. As technical commodity manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: Develops, documents, communicates and updates technical category strategy & complexity reduction/standardisation strategies (Golden catalogues/Master Catalogues). Defines the golden parts list (preferred, recommended parts/solutions) Drives category & standardisation strategy adherence into the business divisions during new product development, programs & projects & along the product lifecycle Ensures that suppliers’ (emerging) technology roadmaps are documented and meeting/converging with ASN technical requirements and are communicated to stakeholders. Drives awareness and use of suppliers’ state of the art technology evolutions into the stakeholders organisations Organises Supplier Technology Forums and publishes Technology White Papers Drives cost reduction and risk mitigation plans with respect to second sourcing and material re-engineering Controls the introduction of new part numbers. Reviews/approves new part requests and assures strategy compliance and the usage of multiple sources where applicable Drives and contributes to component risk assessment and reduction along the product life cycle to reduce total costs and to pro-actively improve quality and reliability Drives and coordinates the global Supplier Product Change Notification/Discontinuation Notification (PCN/PDN) process Identifies potential product impacting changes and proposes solutions to the business The incumbent will report to the Global Commodity Managers’ team leader and will work closely with technical, quality and industrial teams.
Required profile: Essential experience as a buyer/negotiator (minimum 4/5 years). Engineering diploma is a plus Experience in an industrial environment such as aerospace, space, or military. English fluent Proficiency in SAP module MM. Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office suite) and particularly Excel. Essential qualities include rigor, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and strong communication. Place of assignment: Les Ulis Travel to suppliers necessary (worldwide) Frequency: 1 every month or 2 months
