helping to drive the continuous improvement of our client’s processes, tooling and engineering practices.
This role sits within the newly formed Digital Cloud Services function. This function is driving innovation across the bank through the
use of Client Web Services (AWS) public cloud offerings. The team is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing
operational support of AWS services for the Digital business.
The role of the Cloud Infrastructure Project Manager (PM) is to manage deployment of cloud services to application development
teams. The PM will work closely with all Digital project teams to understand their cloud requirements. The PM will manage an
infrastructure delivery roadmap including the management of people, plans, budgets and risks/issues. The PM will also report into
the overall Digital Infrastructure programme(s) providing a view of the Cloud Infrastructure project portfolio.
The Cloud Infrastructure PM will be accountable for:
- Maintaining a view of the cloud project portfolio including release dates for major changes
- Managing and coordinating engineering resources to deliver project requirements
The Cloud Infrastructure PM will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and tracking cloud infrastructure projects
- Regularly engage with project managers from application teams to understand project priorities and requirements
- Managing stakeholder expectations on the delivery of cloud services
- Develop and maintain a portfolio roadmap & pipeline of projects proposing to use cloud services
- Develop and maintain a view of the cloud project portfolio including key milestones and delivery dates
- Raising project support requests (service requests) and/or project DevOps requests to support the delivery of cloud
projects. Tracking these requests to resolution
- Prioritising and tracking all project dependencies
- Supporting cloud projects through project governance steps
- Providing weekly and monthly project management reports that include progress, plan, risks, issues and dependencies
- Tracking engineering resource utilisation across SRE and DevOps teams and managing the recruitment process for
additional resource
- Providing input to quarterly increment plans
- Providing ad-hoc input to financial management processes
- Providing ad-hoc reporting as required to support the analysis of cloud projects
The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience of managing infrastructure projects including the management of engineering teams, project
plans, budgets, risks and issues
- Demonstrable experience of managing teams of Engineers
- Experience of managing multiple projects in parallel
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to set and manage client expectations
- Ability to clearly articulate and drive mitigation of risks & issues
- Experience of working in DevOps and Agile environments
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrable expertise in Infrastructure Project Management experience
- Experience of using Agile tools such as Jira for day-to-day task management
- Working with project management tools such as MS Project for planning and roadmap development
- Exposure to Agile and DevOps ways of working
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of managing AWS infrastructure delivery projects
- PRINCE 2 practitioners
- AWS Business and Technical Essentials training
