Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Skin Therapy Research Unit within the award-winning St John’s Institute of Dermatology.The internationally leading research programme includes multi-centre observational studies involving longitudinal clinical data and biological sample collections, as well as interventional studies.The post will comprise working as part of the Skin Therapy Research Unit. The main focus of the research is atopic eczema and psoriasis. You will work as part of and be supported by a large and well established multi-disciplinary research team with a strong track record of producing high impact, translational research.The post will be based at Guy’s Hospital. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at additional locations according to the needs of the projects.Main duties of the jobTo screen, coordinate and recruit eligible patients, carry out clinical tasks such as venepuncture, and ECG, meticulously record various data points and deliver interventions according to specific study protocols. You will be responsible for data entry, ensuring patient safety and maintaining high levels of quality assurance expected at GSTT. You will also be involved in the set-up of new trials and will be required to work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent quality clinical research.About usThe Unit provides a range of services and facilities to support research aimed at improving outcomes in people with skin disease. Work extends from genetic discovery through to a comprehensive portfolio of clinical trials (phase II onwards) and biomarker-enabled precision medicine.
