To find out why you should apply for a role at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, please view our video and listen to what our staff say working at WUTH is really like: https://youtu.be/Z5oMaNXprn8Job overviewWe are looking to recruit a forward thinking, highly motivated and experienced nurse leader who will champion a high level of professional standards and excellence within the Emergency Department in a 9 month secondment as Clinical Practise Educator.Main duties of the jobThe clinical practice educator will work collaboratively with the Ward Sisters and Senior Nursing Team to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care across all clinical sites.She/he will support the continuing education, training and professional development of staff, including preceptorship and induction of newly qualified nursing staff promoting the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.She/he will assist in the development and implementation of appropriate protocols and standard operating procedures and undertake associate clinical audits as directed to ensure that all staff are able to acquire and adhere to the professional standards and competencies required in nursing practice.Working for our organisationAll new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us. • NMC or HCPC registered (depending on department)

Desirable criteria

• Teaching and assessing qualification
• Leadership & management qualification
• Educated to degree level
• Experience in incident investigation and action plan

Knowledge and SkillsEssential criteria

• Minimum 3 years clinical experience
• Preceptorship/Mentorship training
• Good presentation skills

Desirable criteria

• Clinical audit & action planning
• Experience in performance management processes
• Root cause analysis and incident investigation training
• Training in human factors/non-technical skills and simulation

Personal AttributesEssential criteria

• Able to communicate within a multidisciplinary team
• Able to develop and implement training programmes

Desirable criteria

• Able to deal with complex issues
• Ability to deal with difficult conversation
