Job summaryThe successful applicant will be based withinAcademic Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism group based at Allam Diabetes Centre, Hull Royal Infirmary at Hull. The Academic Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism (ADEM) group at the Allam Diabetes Centre integrates clinical care, research, and education to advance understanding and treatment of diabetes, endocrine, and metabolic diseases. In partnership with the University of Hull and Hull York Medical School, ADEM leads pioneering research across key areas such as clinical trials, epidemiology, lifestyle interventions, and applied research, focusing on conditions like diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and cardiometabolic diseases. Supported by a multidisciplinary team of clinical academics, consultants, research fellows, and specialist staff, and housed in state-of-the-art facilitiesincluding DXA scanning, body imaging, and dedicated laboratoriesADEM collaborates extensively with university departments, industry, and national and international partners to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes. Outpatient clinical work is performed at Hull Royal Infirmary.Main duties of the jobThe appointee will work within a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and academics within the HUTH diabetes and endocrinology clinical service and ADEM Research Group. The role will include undertaking outpatient clinics (up to 3 clinics per week) under the supervision of consultant colleagues, attending the specialist endocrine MDTs, playing an important role in developing clinical pathways, delivering education to multidisciplinary audiences and supporting conduct of clinical trials. Clinical activities will take place at Hull Royal Infirmary. There will be additional opportunities to gain experience undertaking applied health research in academic diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism.
