Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark is looking for volunteer cleanup coordinators to organize cleanup events all over Denmark’s coastline.Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark is a voluntary environmental organization that works to strengthen public awareness of the extent of ocean pollution and its consequences. Guided by our slogan “Tavaha” (Take care of the ocean), Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark’s vision is to shape a global community where all individuals, both in Denmark and around the world, feel inspired and empowered to take care of the ocean. Our mission is to motivate everyone to care for the ocean by involving them in meaningful, practical action, promoting knowledge sharing and creating a community of Ocean Watchers with a shared commitment to protect our marine environment.Activation: We encourage everyone to actively take care of the sea.

Community: We foster a community of Ocean Watchers.We are looking for cleanup coordinators all over Denmark to strengthen our efforts against pollution of the marine environment. As a cleanup coordinator, you will play a central role in the organization and execution of cleanup events in your local area together with your Nordic Ocean Watch cleanup team. In addition to working with our team, you are expected to occasionally coordinate with other organizations, businesses, the municipality and other public bodies to plan and execute an effective cleanup event. We are therefore looking for people who, in addition to being outgoing and having good communication skills, are also aware of responsibility and can plan and carry out tasks independently.A cleanup coordinator must be able to:Plan and organize cleanup events.
Collaborate effectively with our cleanup team and external partners.
Communicate clearly and distinctly with various stakeholders.
Coordinate resources and logistics to ensure a successful event.
Be flexible and handle unforeseen challenges along the way.
Experience with project management would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.As a volunteer in Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark, you get the opportunity to become part of an innovative, active and growing voluntary environmental organisation. You will be part of a team of like-minded people, where everyone has the same goal of taking care of the sea. You will have great responsibility and creative freedom in the team, which is why we are looking for a passionate and proactive volunteer. As part of the team, you are also our external face, and therefore we expect you to take your responsibilities seriously and carry them out professionally when you commit to Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark. We expect you to attend meetings, respond to emails and messages and actively participate in team discussions. We are looking for long-term volunteers who see themselves spending a year or more within the organization. Volunteering for Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark also requires you to spend at least a few hours a week volunteering for Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark on average, although some times of the year will be busier than others, such as summertime, which is our busiest time of the year.
