The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Mission24 through its next phase of growth and development. The CEO will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the charity, overseeing the operational, financial, and strategic aspects of the organisation, and ensuring the charity’s continued impact in line with its Christian values and mission. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strong leadership to the staff and volunteers, build partnerships, and represent Mission24 to a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management: Lead, manage, and inspire the team to deliver Mission24’s vision, values, and strategic objectives. Provide day-to-day management of the charity’s operations.
• Strategic Development: Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement the charity’s strategic plan, ensuring it aligns with the organisation’s mission and long-term goals.
• Fundraising and Partnerships: Develop and oversee fundraising initiatives and build partnerships with donors, churches, and corporate sponsors to ensure financial sustainability.
• Financial Oversight: Manage the charity’s budget and ensure strong financial controls
and reporting mechanisms are in place.
• Governance and Compliance: Ensure the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, including charity law and safeguarding policies.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the public face of the charity, engaging with stakeholders, including donors, churches, partner organisations, and the media, to promote the charity’s work.
• Programme Development: Oversee the development and delivery of Mission24’s evangelism, discipleship, and humanitarian programmes, ensuring they meet the needs of communities and individuals.
• Team Development: Foster a positive and productive working environment, encouraging professional development and ensuring the wellbeing of staff and volunteers.

Person Specification

• Faith and Values: Strong commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with the mission and values of Mission24.
• Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the charity sector or a faith-based organisation.
• Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and translate vision into practical, measurable outcomes.
• Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, with experience overseeing budgets, financial planning, and fundraising.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and represent the charity to a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams, fostering a collaborative and inspiring working environment.
• Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of charity governance, legal compliance, and safeguarding policies, liaising with appropriate professionals to deliver the governance standards of the charity.
