We have an exciting opportunity to join the Central Compliance Team! You’ll be part of a team that performs central compliance tasks for the SCIB Global Compliance team. This includes policy setting, training, reporting, Employee Compliance as well as horizon scanning.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Maintaining a regulatory inventory in the core geographies where SCIB operates by analysing, communicating and tracking emerging regulatory developments
  • Reporting emerging regulatory developments to senior management, stakeholders and Compliance teams
  • Participating in the setting of global standards and overseeing their application in all SCIB compliance teams
  • Supporting regulatory change activities including policy and training and development
  • Participating in projects to improve Santander’s horizon scanning tools and processes
  • Supporting other Central Compliance activities as required

What you’ll bring.

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience within a similar compliance role
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, understand legal and regulatory provisions
  • Ability to identify and balance commercial considerations with regulatory, reputational, and legal risk

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Knowledge of Corporate Investment Banking and Markets, such as product knowledge of banking operations
  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Law, or Finance
  • Knowledge of EU and UK regulations
  • Proficient Spanish, Portuguese, German

What else you need to know:

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 3 days a week (pro-rata for part-time roles).

If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location. We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.
