Role: Catering AssistantLocation: The Bedford Sixth FormSalary/Benefits: Minimum Wage, Pro Rata – DOE and Qualifications. Full training to be provided.Hours/Weeks: This is a 20hr a week role. Working pattern Mon, Wed, Fri 11am-2.20pm Tues, Thur 11am-4pm.Contract Type: Fixed Term – Term TimeAbout the role:We are currently seeking a Catering Assistant to join The Bedford College Group at The Bedford Sixth Form.As a Catering Assistant you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Providing support and assistance to customers and other staff members.
• Assisting in the maintenance of the kitchen and Restaurant facilities and ensure serviceability and security of tools and equipment, and ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.
• Presenting a professional image to all customers and presentation and serving of food to an agreed standard.

About you:

• Knowledge of collecting monies through a cash register & PDQ machine
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent
• Experience in customer care
• IT skills Word, Excel and Outlook
• Allergen training
• Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in catering environment
• Knowledge of food preparation and cooking skills
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
• Ability to multitask
• Access to own transport, with the ability to travel to events and various sites

What is an Associate?Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
