Your new role
We offer the right candidate an exciting job opportunity within our Direct Procurement team. As a Category Manager, you work across a range of outsourcing and contracting activities across our clinical pipeline, well supported by your category team members. No two days are the same, yet some of the primary activities our Clinical Procurement team embarks on are category strategy development, category and project portfolio planning and execution, including alignment with our line of business, building and issuing RFXs, as well as negotiating Work Orders and Change Orders. Our Clinical Procurement team likewise manages our strategic vendors and lead improvement projects across the clinical categories, in close alignment with the Lundbeck business.
Your future team
You will join Corporate Procurement, a global function of more than 60 ambitious colleagues located in Copenhagen, Krakow, and Chicago. We work in close partnership with the business to support the full Lundbeck value chain through professional category management, transparent governance, and a well-established source-to-pay framework
. We take outset in our strongly integrated Category Management processes and deliver value through our structured approach to strategy development, category planning, sourcing project execution as well as stakeholder- and supplier management. The position is based in Valby/Copenhagen, Denmark (no remote setup will be possible).
What you bring to the team
Our new Category Manager will join a team of 5 individuals focusing on Clinical Trials within the Direct Procurement Team. We work individually as well as in teams where sparring and mutual support are key in the way we interact.
As a Category Manager within Clinical Trials, you will:
-Take part in driving Category Strategy development, as well as planning and execution in close collaboration with the other Category Team members.
-Manage sourcing projects and processes within Clinical Trials, hereunder run RFPs, Bid Defense Meetings, as well as negotiation of Work Orders, Change Orders and contracts in close alignment with Lundbeck’s line of business and management – all based on category management methodology.
-Participate in lifecycle management of the relevant contract portfolio and strategic vendor relations, ensuring continued commercial, legal and financial governance and value generation.
-Take part in the business partnering processes with internal key stakeholders to secure project and strategy alignment.
-Ensure clinical trial quality & timelines, compliance, intellectual property, liability and regulatory requirements and overall Lundbeck long term interests across the contract portfolio.
We are expecting the following qualifications from a Senior Category Manager within CMC-CMO:
-Project management skills demonstrated through a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing projects either in or related to Clinical Development (for example as clinical trial manager, procurement role, or similar).
-Profound understanding of clinical trials as a key requirement, but we are open to where your experience comes from. This could be from past roles in both pharmaceutical development, or a more procurement related role where you have at the same time gained experience with clinical trials.
-Business partnering skills, ability to influence and an emphatic mind-set.
-An interest in building or further building your procurement skills (project management, negotiations, legal understanding, data analysis and Category Management).
-A Master’s Degree from a University or Business School relevant to the position.
-Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach.
-The ability to manage many projects and tasks simultaneously with a high drive.
