Category & E-commerce manager

We are looking for a Category & E-commerce manager Colgate-Palmolive for our site in Brussels, Belgium. This role functions as an expert in the field of shopper, customer and category projects. This translates into taking the lead on large (cross-category) category projects, both internal and external and training colleagues to place category management / retail- and shopper thinking as strong as possible within the organization. Furthermore, the Category and E-commerce manager will lead the digital transformation of our commercial teams.

What you’ll do

Every day is different, but below is a sample of what you will experience and expect to accomplish:

  • Responsible for championing the Category deployment within the organization, and demonstrates enhanced capabilities working collaboratively with customers. Plays an integral role in disseminating Category knowledge and in driving retail category focus within the commercial team.

  • The role requires a strong understanding of the shoppers in different retail environments (RE’s) across categories, needs identify the category business challenges at a RE level and for priority customers

  • The Category and E-commerce Manager will develop and deliver shelf and assortment solutions (eg. shelf recommendations) for our customers promoting cross-functional collaboration to address retailer’s category opportunities

  • Is a part of the commercial team and will work with the Customer Development Managers and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and execution against the category and brand strategies by coordinating the RCD process with customers and providing the tools required to define and deploy the 5P’s and shopper solution for the category.

The E-commerce part of the job:

  • Excellent execution of ecommerce basics at our customers (product descriptions, mobile optimized, etc)

  • Make the best use of Colgate-Palmolive tools to gather insights (eshopper decision tree, keywords performance, digital shelve advice, etc) and translate this into a concrete action plan to make our brands grow

  • Be the belgian point of contact for global expansion and get the opportunity to connect with digital teams across Europe

  • An optimist in action; fluent in Dutch or French is a must and English speaking

  • Min 2-3 year(s) experience in Trade Marketing / Category Management / Consulting

  • Combined category management experience with eCommerce experience is a plus!

  • Analytical – we’re a very data driven company. Knowing how to translate sophisticated data into simple solutions with an analytical approach is essential. Experience and familiarity with market research and analysis tools (e.g. Nielsen) is highly desirable.

  • “Change agent” to place category management at the highest level in the organization.

  • You don’t get easily stressed by pressure, a fast paced environment and handling different projects at the same time is what keeps you energized
