Due to high demand in and across Blackburn. We are looking for dedicated and determined Caretakers to join one of our Schools in Blackburn.

As a School Caretaker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our school facilities are well-maintained and operational. You will be responsible for a range of tasks including routine maintenance, cleaning, and security of the school premises.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs to ensure the school environment is safe and functional.
* Manage and perform regular cleaning duties including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
* Oversee the security of the school buildings, including locking/unlocking doors and responding to any security incidents.
* Assist with setting up and clearing away equipment for school events and activities.
* Monitor and manage the use of school facilities and report any issues to the appropriate staff members.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.

Preferred Skills:

* Previous experience in a care taking or maintenance role, preferably within an educational setting.
* Basic DIY and maintenance skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and visitors.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations related to school environments.

Requirements:

* An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
* Legal right to work in the UK.
* Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
