Caretaker

Bow Cross – London

£26,963 per year ( pro rata)

40 hours per week

Temporary position for up to 3 months

We have a temporary opportunity for a Caretaker to join our Estate Services team based in Bow Cross.

As a Caretaker you will be responsible for carrying out an excellent caretaking service which will involve communal cleaning, sweeping, mopping and cleaning doors and windows. The role will be lone working, however you will join a wider team of Caretakers and will provide cover to other schemes when required. The ideal candidate will have a either cleaning or caretaking experience and a track record of delivering high quality services, demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and high levels of customer service.

The role of Caretaker
will include:

-Undertaking general caretaking duties including cleaning communal areas such as stairs, doors and windows and removing bulk waste
-Grounds maintenance tasks to include litter picking and general upkeep
-Working with customers to resolve issues and improve services
-Completing all documents and paperwork concerning tasks completed
-Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in a suitable condition
-Carrying out monthly inspections
-Reporting communal defects /repairs
 

Skills and experiences:

-Experience in a similar cleaning role or completing similar tasks
-British institute certificate in cleaning services (BICS) would be advantageous
-Practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery
-Some experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
-Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
-Good communication and customer care skills
-This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full manual valid UK driving licence
