Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a division of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Business Analyst Lead to be part of the Capability Management team within Clinical & Portfolio Solutions team, part of the Global Development Organization. This position can be located in Raritan, New Jersey; Brussels, Belgium; or Antwerp, Belgium.

The Capability Management lead serves as the primary liaison between the R&D business stakeholders, as well as the broader Global Development (GD) Organization and Information Technology (IT). The Lead Capability Analyst plays a critical role in implementing and continually advancing Global Development tools that support Feasibility Operations, and Portfolio & Planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the identification and implementation of projects, continuous improvements and innovative solutions that optimize processes and tools via close collaboration with GD customers and IT.

  • Leads opportunity exploration, and agile experiments to identify and/or create solutions.

  • Maintains a customer approach to ensure solutions are relevant and helpful to the end-user; define and measure customer satisfaction and value.

  • Collaborate with various teams and stakeholder to collect, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows.

  • Partners with technical teams (IT & Data Science) to ensure development of features, testing and release schedules.

  • Be involved in identifying areas for process improvement and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Balance business value with technical feasibility while prioritizing stories and features, to efficiently improve delivery of features.

  • Act as the “voice of the customer” within the squad to ensure the squad builds features oriented around business impact.




  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or University Related Degree, is required.

Experience and Skills:


  • A minimum of 3 years experience implementing and/or supporting enterprise wide process and technology projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate the use of technology to be applied to solving business problems and/or to improve business outcomes.

  • Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies, such as AGILE, Scrum, and/or relevant technologies.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation abilities.

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position in all other US locations is $104,000 to $166,750.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time – up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year
