Job Description

Job Title: Calibration Engineer UK

Location: On-site in Hemel Hempstead

Job Summary : The purpose of this role is to perform metrology activities to support Instrument and Enterprise Service revenue growth and to support vital Quality activities required to maintain accreditations & certifications within the united kingdom.

Reports to : IES Metrology Manager UK

Responsibilities:

  • Actively perform UK Metrology activities under the supervision of the head of the IES metrology laboratory in the UK

  • Management of Accredited and Non-Accredited Calibrated reference equipment

  • Maintain relationships with calibration providers

  • Ensure on-time Calibration of reference equipment

  • Pre/Post checks

  • Receipt and dispatch of M&TE

  • Calibration of customer equipment in field and in-house lab as required

  • Metrology document review including working towards becoming a UKAS approved certificate signatory

  • Support the development and maintenance of the ISO17025 QMS

  • Maintain and update as required ISO17025 Quality System documentation.

  • Support Internal & External audits of ISO17025 activities

  • Support the treatment audit findings and non-conformances

  • Support answering customer enquiries

What will you need?

  • Higher education qualification(s) or equivalent technical job experience (5 years plus) with qualifications and/or experience including instrumentation.

  • Process/software/instrument Validation expertise is an asset

  • Previous experience in the deployment and support of projects / process improvement.

  • Occasional travel in UK, international traveling may be required.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities

  • Excellent inter-personal, self-motivational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work across all levels, functions and regions

  • Independent and self-sufficient and able to work without close supervision.

  • MS office including intermediate level (ideally experienced level) MS-Excel and IT system literate

  • Based within commutable distance to Hemel Hempstead UK.

  • Good technical knowledge of Calibration.

  • Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems including audits.

  • Fluent in English

  • UK driving license
