Offer DescriptionPlace/unit of incorporationThe transversal area of Omic Sciences of the Institut d’Investigació e Innovació Parc Tauli (I3PT) is looking for a candidate to apply for a Caixa Postdoctoral Junior Leaders grant. The candidate will have the opportunity to be the principal investigator of a project covering the strategic lines of the transversal area of Omic Sciences, led by Dr. Víctor Manuel Martínez-Gonzalez, with the opportunity of establishing and leading a research group.The I3PT is a young and growing research centre. Born in 2015, it has obtained recognition as a CERCA center in 2021, and has been accredited as a Health Research Institute by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III in 2023.The Institute consists of 9 research areas, two of which are transversal, currently forming a total of 28 research groups. The area of Omic Sciences is one of the transversal areas to all the groups of the Institute, which allows participation in multidisciplinary projects. This area is led by Dr. Víctor Manuel Martínez Gonzalez, clinical geneticist and researcher in genomic medicine and rare diseases, and current director of the Center for Genomic Medicine at the Parc Taulí University Hospital. At this time, most of the activity of the Omic Sciences area focuses on genomics, but we are open to other lines of research related to different Omic Sciences and Bioinformatics.In this sense, we are looking for a person in the field of Omic Sciences/Bioinformatics, with experience and autonomy, who has defined ideas about their research interests.We work towards the implementation of a work model based on the quality of the services offered, firmly committed to the integration of technology in the work dynamics of the organization.Duties:

• Should have a PhD obtained between 2017 and 2022.
• Having resided and worked on scientific projects outside Spanish territory for a period of no less than 6 months.
• Studies and experience in the Omic Sciences and/or Bioinformatics field of research.
• Capacity for leadership in projects as Principal Investigator.
• Autonomy.
• Capacity to train students in the field of research (bachelor’s, master’s or predoctoral)
• Basic knowledge of methodology and statistics applied to research.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Easy adaptation to changes.

We offer:The selected person must apply to a ‘Caixa Postdoctoral Junior Leaders’ Grant with our institution. Once granted, you will have the opportunity to join the I3PT to lead a research project in Omic Sciences, with the opportunity of focusing on your research lines of interest, provided that they are aligned with the interests of the transversal area. Moreover, the candidate will have the opportunity to establish and lead their own research group in the Omics area.The working conditions are established in the bases of the grant aid, providing a contract of up to 3 years. The contract also includes additional aid to cover research expenses, the amount of which is stipulated in the bases of the call. Once this time is over, the candidate will have the opportunity to opt for stabilization within the Institute as a researcher.
