Buyer – Bakewell – £25,000 – £30,000

Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a leading manufacturing business based in Bakewell who are looking for a Buyer to join their team.
The business which has just had its most successful year to date are in a market which is thriving currently and this key role within the business will see you directly responsible for sourcing and purchasing of all materials, goods and services.

Buyer Responsibilities:

– Sources suppliers and develops relationships to negotiate and buy goods, materials and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements
– Coordinates with internal departments to ensure status of all orders are tracked and entered into the SAP system
– Coordinates with the Finance team to ensure all upfront supplier payments are actioned
– Identifies and develops additional reporting methods/tools within the SAP system to enable more accurate data to assist with Purchasing, i.e., Usage Reports
– Maintains and develops relationships with suppliers making visits where necessary and conducting audits ensuring supplier certification is kept up to date, i.e. ISO9001
– Conducts research into potential suppliers and vendors to identify cost savings and additional services
– Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working together
– Ensures the QA documentation covering Purchasing is kept up to date with the latest Purchasing procedures

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (30 minute lunch break)

Required Skills & Experience:

– Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
– Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
– Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
– Ability to learn and understand technical aspect of products
– A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office & SAP (Desirable)
