Objectives of the Role:The role is to direct and organize the actuarial functions in the Life Area, providing actuarial calculations advice, in order to maximize the value of business to shareholders in the long run.The primary purpose of this position is the direct responsibility for all actuarial activities associated with the following areas of expertise: Reserving, Reinsurance and Analytics.You will report to the Life &Health Thecnical DirectActuarial In force Management FunctionThe key responsibilities are: * Lead the in-force management practice within Spain. This will include all aspects such as steering of inforce KPIs (in line with company’s strategic objectives and consistent with solvency & IFRS17), analyzing inforce portfolio (assumptions, cost allocation, profitability, portfolio segmentation, value for the customer, cost control, remuneration of sales network), review / build internal policy for inforce (crediting, reinsurance, liability side of ALM..) and propose actions (cross & up selling, predictive analysis, revisit profit participation, maturity management & retention incl. decumulation, rider attachment, guarantee reduction or alternative, decommissioning of legacy) including analysis of market best practice, and liaising with Group Life experts.

• Supervision of the local Life Reserve calculation: proper provision and reporting on the liabilities of insurance policies and to ensure the adequacy of reserves to interest rates, mortality tables and sufficiency of loadings (to cover actual costs).
• Review and arrange necessary longevity reinsurance arrangement.
• Perform experience analysis and ensure the reasonableness of actuarial assumptions on pricing / valuation / planning. You will use traditional methodologies, but also predictive models and machine learning approaches to implement state-of-the-art solutions. You will work closely with international Actuaries and Data Scientists keeping up to date with industry and data science standards and build bridges to the traditional actuarial world.
• Drive forward actively streamlining and automatization of internal processes.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, risk, actuarial, controlling, marketing and sales, to ensure successful product launches and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Master or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Extensive experience (+10/15 years) in the Life Actuarial area in Consultant or Insurance Company in business related functions (Underwriting, Risk, Actuarial)
• Strong experience with ALM modelling and life actuarial software. Risk Agility Financial Modeling (RAFM) is a plus.
• Programming skills in R, Python, and expertise in machine learning would be beneficial. Familiarity working with SAS databases.
• Be familiar with the main insurance product types, investment, risk implications and accounting (e.g. Solvency II, IFRS 17, etc.)
