Job Purpose

The objective for the Brand Marketing Activation Manager Benelux is to create a connection between our products and end users through brand communication. He/she builds loyalty to ensure continued purchase and use of our products with market share growth as main objective. The ideal candidate has strategic and operational responsibility in terms of brand communication, for one or more product groups. He/she continuously aims at positive development of the annual turnover and the overall profitability of the Business. A hands-on, creative & pro-active mentality is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic and operational management of the BLACK+DECKER & IRWIN brands.

  • You continually enhance brand image and increase brand awareness.

  • You develop regional brand communication plans and strategy.

  • You work closely with the Central Brand Team to guarantee brand communication alignment.

  • You participate in regional and international product launches and training events.

  • You prepare and develop the brand’s global 360° strategy and calendar for all the different channels. Including: Influencers, META, PR, CRM, webplatform etc.

  • As a stakeholder, you drive and support social media plans, PR, sales folders, campaigns, sponsorships, European promotion activities and national trade shows together with Trade Marketing Managers and Digital Coordinator.

  • We expect you to challenge our marketing plan, its preparation and its execution. You put your plans into action and monitor the success of your campaigns. At the end, you analyze the results and draw conclusions for the future with the Trade Manager.

  • You develop and implement a plan to significantly increase our database and first party data.

  • You support customer specific product promotions, exclusive campaigns and are willing to support them when necessary.

  • You drive POS, print and material delivery optimizations during our national campaigns.

  • You work closely with the sales teams to ensure the best possible visibility of our brands at point of sale.

  • You work closely with the Trade Manager to create the best Brand planning with a view to increasing visibility and ROI

  • You lead creative development to motivate the target audience to “take action”

Accountability

  • You ensure that the local brand strategy is aligned with the international stakeholders of Stanley Black & Decker and that it’s being executed in a consistent way in the BNLX market.

  • You ensure high brand visibility at end user level (ATL)

  • You ensure an optimal internal communication about the current brand activities.

  • You ensure that all commercialisation and brand materials, including presentations and relevant products, are presented in the best way to sales and our customers.

  • You maintain a close relationship with sales.

  • You achieve targets defined in the operating plan.

  • You drive growth plans.

  • You identify brand awareness potentials and share the plan how to get them on board including ROI overview.

Skills & competences

  • You have at least 3 years experience in a similar role

  • Education: Business or Marketing degree at bachelor degree, master or MBA.

  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch and French and good knowledge of English.

  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop is a plus

  • A valid drivers licence.

  • Commercial awareness – understanding of the dynamics of the professional construction, automotive and industrial market, the impact of decisions and the needs of our key retailers and end users.

  • B2B or B2C background.

  • Financial- to understand necessary financial areas both internal and external and to use these skills to drive sales and margin for the Business.

  • Analytical- solve problems by making decisions that are sensible given the available information.

  • Excellent & adaptable communication skills. Proactively communicates at all levels internally and externally, local markets, product managers and outside agencies. Is persuasive in ability to ‘sell ideas’ and promotes benefits to others within the organisation.

  • Ability to deal with pressure – the ability to stay calm under pressure and ensure that pressure situations do not adversely affect the results achieved.

  • Problem solver

  • Flexible– no problem in working ‘out of office hours’ during week and weekends and displays a creative open minded work attitude.

  • Drive and determination- to have high self-motivation to look for continuous improvement in all areas even in tough conditions.
