Beamline Scientist for the Time-Resolved Ultrasmall-Angle Scattering Beamline ID02 (F/M)
European Synchrotron Radiation Facility
Context & Job descriptionYou will actively involve in the operation and maintenance of the beamline, providing support to external users as local contact, and develop your own in-house research programme which should remain in the forefront of soft matter or biophysical sciences.Your primary missions as a Beamline Scientist will be to provide support to external users by acting as local contact and perform in-house research. Together with other beamline staff, you will be required to contribute to the maintenance and development of the beamline, new sample environments and data analysis methods. ID02 is a high-resolution time-resolved SAXS/WAXS/USAXS instrument featuring a 34 m long detector tube combined with state-of-the-art detectors. In addition, XPCS can be performed in the SAXS/USAXS configuration. The beamline is primarily dedicated to research on soft materials and biological specimens.Current in-house research topics include dynamics of driven colloids, spontaneous self-assembly processes in amphiphilic systems, and relationship between microstructure and rheology in complex fluids. Your research programme should be focused on exploiting high resolution and time-resolved scattering methods for the investigation of structure and dynamics of soft matter or biological systems that further diversify current activities. The appointment will be for a fixed term of up to 5 years.
