Batch & Furnace Shift Supervisor
Knottingley Plant

Role description
The Batch & Furnace Shift Supervisor is responsible for the monitoring and controlling of operations to efficiently produce glass of high quality.  Be able to lead cross functional teams to achieve successful solutions within a continuous process environment.

Responsibilities:

-Monitor and control the Batch and Furnace operation to ensure environmental, energy and quality objectives
-Identify, respond to and action to resolve operational malfunctions and events
-Complete checks of the furnace structures, associated equipment, services and glass parameters to ensure effective operation including basic maintenance and sealing of furnace structures
-Ensure batch formulas are correct against controlled and authorised recipes.
-Monitoring raw material delivery and control to ensure appropriate materials are available.
-Lead, Develop, motivate and support your team to produce high performance in Batch & Furnace operation aligning with Ardagh core values and behaviours

Required skills / qualifications:

-An understanding in the use, and application of Lean Principles and techniques within a manufacturing environment
-Utilising LSS tools and methodologies to drive data driven decision making.
-Understanding of container manufacturing and glass colour change procedures
-Working towards or willing to achieve IOSH Managing Safely.
-Willing to attend Ardagh Leadership Supervisory development programs as and when requested.
-Engage and participate in a positive and proactive safety culture developing and creating documentation

What we offer:

-Salary Minimum £48,112 – £56,451 maximum of Grade 7 per annum
-Salary sacrifice pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions
-Normal shift pattern is determined by the 5-crew shift rota, however, typically consists of a two 12-hour day shifts followed by two 12-hour night shifts and then a six-day rest period, which includes 21 shifts when working the 5 crew 12-hour shift rota – Holidays are built into the shift 5 crew rota.
