Bakery Site Director

Your new company

We are really excited to work with a food manufacturing company located in the heart of London, who are currently looking to expand their Supply Chain team with a Production Site Director. They are currently working with big name cafés and restaurants, as well as supplying pastries and baked goods to independent cafés and coffee shops in and around prestigious locations in London. They are a 15 million GBP turnover business and have plans to double in the next 5 years.

Your new role

Your main responsibilities as the Site Director would be overseeing the production of the fresh produce, the safety and regulations are maintained on site, and making sure everything is running on schedule on a “just in time model”. You will also be reporting to the Managing Director and spend your working time on the production site. In addition, you will be leading a team of around 15-20 people in the production department. As the Production Director, you will manage and develop a team of bakery professionals, ensuring they are trained in both artisanal techniques and modern production technologies. As this business grows, you will be overseeing the site alongside managing and growing your team.

What you’ll need to succeed

A successful candidate will be able to inspire their team and have great leadership qualities whilst also being able to manage a challenging workforce schedule. You will need to have proven experience of managing within the bakery industry as well as great software knowledge. You will be a problem-solver in nature and thrive in this growing business which currently has 90 full-time employees. You must be able to create energy and have a student mentality. In addition, you will also need a bachelor’s degree in food science, bakery science or a related field.
