Do you want to take the opportunity to join us from the early stages of building a new manufacturing site and be part of NN’s global IT organisation? Do you want to be a part of our international IT and Automation team? If your expertise covers the implementation of process control systems in a GxP regulated industry, this could be your chance! Bring your own personal ambition and dedication and join our team of highly qualified colleagues, with a passion to bring better treatments to the people who need them.

The Position

The role of a Automation Engineer- DCS is pivotal in supporting our new facilities from the design phase through to operational readiness and into operations. In this capacity, you will collaborate extensively within Novo Nordisk’s internal and external departments to our projects, as well as our Engineering Partners, to ensure comprehensive resource coverage for project tasks and to establish standardized design, implementation, and deployment procedures for highly automated solutions.

Your responsibilities will encompass guiding dedicated team members to ensure oversight and offer direction for issue resolution, in conjunction with solution architects and other automation specialists. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in preparing all departments for operations by identifying gaps within SOPs, training, and competencies, and subsequently driving efforts to close these gaps. Upon project completion and in operations, you will continue to support the facility by providing coaching and training, owning and driving changes, supporting future projects, and being on call for issues that occur in our 24×7 manufacturing facility.

You will be responsible for:

style=”margin-bottom:11.0px”-
-Identifying key risks, defining requirements, and ensuring alignment of the process control systems and all integrating solutions across the project.
-Supporting the delivery, validation, and maintenance of the process control systems.
-Creating, reviewing, and approving documentation related to the design, operation, and maintenance of process control systems.
-Collaborating with stakeholders, external partners, and other automation organizations across Novo Nordisk.

Your main location will be in Kalundborg, in close proximity of the manufacturing sites. As a lot of our collaboration partners work around Copenhagen, it is occasionally expected that you will also travel to work in those locations.

The project is of great strategic importance to Novo Nordisk, which has high visibility and support from Senior Management. At the same time, you will have a foot inside Novo Nordisk’s IT organization which supports all major expansion projects as well as operations.

Qualifications

In order to succeed in the role, you have:

style=”margin-bottom:11.0px”-
-M.Sc. or B.Sc. within IT, Engineering, Biotechnology or related field.
-2-5+ years of experience with process control systems (e.g. DeltaV, 800xA, Siemens) in an industrial setting; either from operations and maintenance, or from project participation.
-Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements.
-Experience within the Pharma industry (GMP experience is a plus) or other regulated industry.
-The ability to communicate well in spoken and written English.

As a person, you are energized by taking responsibility for automation and system integration. You are proactive and structured in your way of working and open to share information with your colleagues, work together as a team, and drive for joint results. You use data to drive your decisions and challenge solutions. You thrive in a multicultural environment and have an open mind-set. You have strong communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and can translate strategy into ambitious goals with clear priorities.

About the department

The IT, Automation and Robotics Department is a diverse team made up of individuals with a variety of nationalities and professional experiences. The team atmosphere is very inclusive, and the team members support each other in adapting to Novo Nordisk and life in Kalundborg. You will find the team inviting and collaborative in finding solutions and supporting each other’s tasks. Due to the fast pace of project life, our team is very dynamic and can shift priorities in order to support project milestones.
