We provide a safe and efficient transportation system for the traveling public, while promoting economic development and preserving the environment of New Mexico.

This is an Auto Service Technician & Mechanic- Basic position with Service Center, located in Milan New Mexico with District 6.

Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two (2) weeks of the closing date.

Why does the job exist?

The position is responsible for scheduled maintenance as well as preventative maintenance on all state vehicles.

How does it get done?

Scheduling and servicing vehicles.

Who are the customers?

District 6 employees.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

• Performing maintenance on vehicles.
• Working in a mechanic repair shop or setting.
• Computer skills.

Minimum Qualification

Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements

A pre-employment background investigation is required. Employment requires successful completion of post offer pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Business reference check and Driver’s License verification are also required, and employment is conditional pending results.

Travel maybe required.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a shop environment but may be required to work outdoors, walking, sitting, stooping, and bending. Work with and around hazardous equipment and materials such as power tools, equipment, fumes, gases, high noise, and chemicals. 24 hours call-out during adverse weather conditions. Work may also be performed in an office setting to include working with computers, faxes, copiers and printers.
