AU Distinguished Senior Innovator (DSI)
Aarhus University’s business initiative is now expanding with the appointment of AU Distinguished Senior Innovators (DSI). The Faculty of Arts hereby encourages all permanent staff at the associate professor/professor level to consider stepping into this role at the faculty for a period of initially up to three years. As an innovator, one must act as a bridge-builder and catalyst for innovation, helping to promote research-based innovation and entrepreneurship at the faculty – and in general, strengthen the development of a business-oriented innovation culture at the university.
You can read more about AU Distinguished Senior Innovators here – AU Distinguished Senior InnovatorsAt Arts, emphasis will be placed on AU Distinguished Senior Innovator contributing to innovative and developmental solutions within central cultural and societal areas. The innovative project at Arts does not necessarily have to be a specific product for a particular market. It can also be a solution to a societal problem that requires co-creation with specific users and citizens, thereby benefiting and making a business difference for parties outside the university.To apply for the position, the following criteria must be met:

  • The application must contain a well-described innovation project.
  • The application must describe how the project contributes to solving one or more challenges.
  • It must be clearly stated how the project will help spread an innovation and entrepreneurship culture across the faculty and how the project leader sees their role in this.
  • It must be clearly stated how younger researchers can be involved in the given project in the long term.
  • AU Distinguished Senior Innovator must also be catalysts for innovation and therefore engage in dialogue with research colleagues from all three institutes.
  • The timeframe for the project is flexible and can be up to three years initially. It should be indicated how the project is envisaged to be realized within the program period.
  • The head of the institute must pre-approve partial withdrawal from teaching duties to take on the role of an innovator for the specified period.
  • The application must be a maximum of five pages, with 2 pages dedicated to the CV.
  • A CV must be attached.

Research Profile:

  • Professor or equivalently excellent researcher already employed at the Faculty of Arts, Aarhus University (experienced associate professors are considered equivalent).
  • Documented innovation experience.
