The position
As Associate Vice President, Legal, Ethics, Compliance & Quality for region EUCAN you will be reporting to the regional Senior Vice President, Region EUCAN and lead a department of 150 people including six direct reports.
Your purpose will be to serve as General Counsel and Compliance Officer with overall responsibility for Legal Affairs, Business Ethics Compliance and Quality Assurance. In this strategic leadership role, you’ll set the direction for these critical functions across the region while ensuring we never compromise on ethics or quality.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Managing and overseeing all Legal, BE Compliance and Quality Affairs across the Region, developing and implementing Global and IO Legal strategies, processes and procedures.
• Providing strategic legal, compliance, and quality advice to the EUCAN Leadership Team to support the business strategy while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and quality.
• Working closely with stakeholders across Marketing & Medical, Finance & Operations, and People & Organisation to leverage business opportunities without compromising on ethics or quality.
• Implementing and maintaining quality management systems, policies, and local requirements, ensuring a value-adding Quality Management Review process for the Region.
• Driving a strong Business Ethics and quality mindset among leaders and employees, fostering a culture of integrity and compliance.
• Managing key legal, compliance, and quality risks, including investigations, disputes, and litigation, while proposing and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Providing legal advice and negotiation support for expanding partnerships with online providers and pharmacy providers.
• Leading legal and compliance tasks related to EUCAN business focus on private channels and business development.
• Identifying trends and best practices in legal, compliance, and quality to share with affiliates, the Region, and Novo Nordisk A/S.
The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
-Comprehensive international legal expertise (15+ years) in a multicultural environment, preferably with 10+ years in-house experience from a pharmaceutical company.
-Extensive experience managing complex legal and compliance issues in the pharmaceutical industry, with deep knowledge of pharmaceutical regulation and business transactions in the region.
-Long-time managerial experience (in-house) incl. experience leading leaders.
-Extensive knowledge of, and in-depth experience with BE Compliance in pharmaceutical or medical device industry including codes of conduct, FCPA and UK Anti-bribery Act.
-Ability to lead through the matrix, inspiring teams across multiple countries and cultures and ensuring impact across the business.
Education:
-Law Degree from High-Rank Law School
-Master’s in law or equivalent
-Admitted to the applicable legal bar/law society
-Fluency in English.
