Job description

Offer DescriptionGrant/funding reference: PROX.UE FLUFET (GA 101130125)_Alejandro CriadoJob title: Development of biosensors based on graphene field effect transistors for the detection of emerging viruses.Research line / Scientific-technical services: Graphene-based biosensorsa) Tasks to be performedThe tasks to be performed will focus on:1. Analysis and development of theoretical calculations: carrying out mathematical and physical calculations necessary for the resolution of specific technical problems of the project.2. Optimisation of existing theoretical models or creation of new theoretical approaches that fit the objectives of the project.3. Mathematical and computational modelling: Design and development of predictive models based on theoretical and experimental data.4. Use of specialised software for the simulation of scenarios and processes, ensuring the validity and accuracy of the results.5. Model validation and verification: Verification of the coherence between theoretical results and experimental data.6. Adjustment and improvement of models based on the validations obtained, in order to optimise their applicability and accuracy.7. Generation of technical reports: Preparation of detailed reports documenting the procedures, results and conclusions of the calculations and models developed.(b) Duration of the contract: The contract is indefinite, but the project tasks are estimated at 24 months.(c) Justification for the duration of the contract: Although the duration of this contract is indefinite, the actual time for the completion of the following tasks is estimated to have a duration of 24 months:– Stage 1 (12 months): Model Definition: a wide range of receptors and surface functionalisation strategies will be explored computationally.– Stage 2 (6 months): Model tuning and improvement: Tuning the simulation parameters until the prediction of multivalence binding matches the experiments.– Stage 3 (6 months): Validation and microfluidic calculations: Once the method has been validated, the best sensor coating system will be designed and flow strength parameters and different flow profiles will be studied.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Physics Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsRequirements for candidates – PhD in Physics.Additional InformationEligibility criteria– Demonstrated experience in analysis and modelling of theoretical calculations. 5 points/year, maximum 50 points.– Demonstrated experience in participation in research projects. 5 points/year, maximum 20 points.– Demonstrated experience in mentoring and tutoring students. 5 points/year, maximum 5 points.– Personal interview. 25 points maximum.
