Offer DescriptionCompetition for the position of assistant professor at the New Media Department of the Design Faculty at the Multimedia Activities Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in KatowiceActing pursuant to Art. 119, the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Competition Regulations constituting Annex No. 6 to the Statute of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in KatowiceRector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice, prof. Ph.D. Grzegorz Hańderek announces a competition for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the New Media Department of the Design Faculty in the Multimedia Activities Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Desing in Katowice.I. The competition may be entered by persons who meet the requirements specified in the Lawon higher education and science and will declare that:● have not been punished with a disciplinary penalty referred to in Art. 276 section 1 point 7 and 8 of the Law on Higher Education and Science;● have full legal capacity;● enjoy full public rights;● have not been convicted by a final court judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal crime;● meet the requirements of Art. 113 of the above-mentioned act.II. Conditions of participation in the competition:practical competences

• video editing/post-production;

• Motion Design;

• Realtime Animation;

• Mapping;

• the art of cinematography;

• lighting/visual setting;

• Web Development;

• User interface (UI);

• interaction design;

• Wireframing;

• proficient use of the Adobe CC package;

• programming (Touchdesigner/Python);

• image processing for sound and music;

• design for marketing, interfaces, infographics, digital publications.

scientific competences:

• obtained the academic degree of doctor of art in the discipline of fine arts and conservation of works of art;

• project management competences;

• research and development for new media / graphic design / interaction;

• activities in the field of correspondence between visual arts, science and music;

• creativity and abstract thinking;

• knowledge of research methods.

teaching competences:

• efficient management and coordination of a multi-person team;

• planning and organizing work/constructing classes;

• using forms and methods encouraging students’ participation in projects;

• ability to use teaching aids, including modern audiovisual means.

• interactive installations;

• mapping / light installations;

• Vjing;

• realtime animation (generative animations);

• music video;

• audiovisual spectacle;

• short film;

• motion design;

• website (design and development);

• interface design.

List of participation in exhibitions and fairs in the field of art and new media design.8. List of other achievements: participation as a speaker in conferences and symposia, participation in training, participation in research projects, cooperation with significant economic and social entities, foundations.9. List of information on previous teaching activities.10. Other information that the candidate believes may be important in the recruitment process.

Proposed employment conditions: fixed-term employment contract, from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025, full-time.VIII. Planned employment date: October 1, 2024.IX. After the completion of the competition procedure, the documents of the candidates who were not selected are returned to them or destroyed after one month from the end of the competition procedure.X. The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice reserves the right to withdraw from the competition due to failure to meet the requirements by any candidate.XI. The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice reserves the right to notify only the selected candidate about the results of the competition.XII. The final decision on employment is made by the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice.XIII. We reserve the right to invalidate the competition without giving a reason.XIV.
