The role

As part of the Legal & Compliance Department, you will work with various divisions and stakeholders on a broad range of finance, commercial and compliance matters throughout Europe. Reporting to the European Financial Counsel, you will support her in the day-today deals negotiations as well as on long term legal projects, exercising some independent judgement, supported by interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Helping in the draft and editing of contracts, including contracts for sales and services, program agreements, financing agreements and non-disclosure agreements

• Providing effective legal services for the divisions, including advisory and contractual support.

• Advising the business on laws, regulations, and Stryker policies

• Providing training and education for stakeholders to ensure the proper functioning and transparency of contractual and other processes.

• Assisting with process improvement projects.

• Supporting development, improvement and updating of templates.

• Liaising with other members of the European Legal, EEMEA Legal and Compliance Team across Europe and Customer Solutions Legal Team in the U.S.

• Supporting pan-European Legal projects and activities as required.

• Reporting on activities, risks, and opportunities, as appropriate.

• Collaborating with the global Data Privacy Team on local DPAs and Data Privacy Law related agreements and matters.

Education & Special Trainings:

Law degree

Qualifications & Experience:

• This position is for applicants with dedicated professional legal experience, ideally in a matrix, corporate environment. Finance and banking background is preferred.

• Pan European law and regulations experience is preferred.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and accountability.

• Outstanding ethical, professional, and positive demeanour, interpersonal skills, judgement, and ability to communicate at all levels of the corporate organisation.

• High proficiency in computer systems and programs such as the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn Stryker-specific systems.

• Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical device or pharmaceutical, is a plus.

• German and/or French and/or Dutch language skills desirable/distinct advantage.
