Purpose

As a key contact between Treasury Cash and Intraday Liquidity Management and other stakeholders the incumbent will provide oversight into liquidity analytics and enhance forecasting capabilities. Design and advocate for new initiatives aiming to improve traceability from the business lines’ cash position on the Balance Sheet to the corresponding Nostro Account.  Role will focus on regional offices and subsidiaries. The incumbent will be responsible for managing intraday liquidity reporting and stress testing according to local regulatory requirements and management analytics.

 

Accountabilities

-Contribute to the Bank’s overall intraday liquidity strategies, cash management direction and provide recommendations to Senior Management for policies and related procedures.
-Ensure local adoption and variation of the above are understood on a global basis and incorporated into the overall Bank strategies. 
-Interpret new and existing local liquidity regulatory reporting requirements related to cash management, intraday liquidity and intraday liquidity stress testing.  Design and oversee processes, automation, reports and dashboards to ensure compliance and additional management analytics.
-Lead and design the evolving local enhancement cash and intraday management processes for entities and businesses in scope.
-Oversee daily forecast, and intraday liquidity for assigned businesses.
-Oversee variance analysis between forecast and actual.
-Make judgement decisions to allocate funds between nostro and central bank accounts based on costs, liquidity ratios, and intraday liquidity strategy.
-Develop and maintain relationships with FIs and central banks to advocate for BNS.  Review best practices and latest industry developments. 
-Ensure end of day trade tickets between central bank and nostro accounts are booked correctly.
-Provide input to setting internal credit limits.
-Manage cash management team in Europe.
-Represent Cash/Intraday Liquidity Management Team on new projects and change management across Europe through effective interaction with board range of stakeholders.
-Represent Cash/Intraday Liquidity Management Team at local Asset-Liabilty Committees
-Work with stakeholders across business lines in scope to address issues or changes to cash and intraday liquidity management.  
-Review and set intraday liquidity stress testing framework with Liquidity Stress Testing Team and manage the production of the data and analysis into Intraday Liquidity Stress Tests. Work with head office on new initiatives.
 

Education/Work Experience/Designations

 

-Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
-MBA/CFA/FRM or accounting designation are considered assets but not required.
-People management experience required
-Required a good level of knowledge in Banking with specific experience in Treasury liquidity and intraday liquidity management
-Highly organized and detail oriented with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to adapt enthusiastically to change.

-Strategic Thinking and Influencing are required to develop a Bank holistic view of Nostro accounts management. Raise proposals to change and drive cost savings as well as cross-department synergies.
-Results focus is necessary to accomplish goals specific to the team as well as global to GCCIM and to meet with ad-hoc deliverables.
-Versatility and adaptation to changes are of major importance for this role as the Bank is constantly evolving and developing a broad range of products and services offered and often with direct impact to Correspondent Banking as well as Intraday Liquidity Management
-Excellent Organization and communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills.
-Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
-Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision.
