An important part of its global production is carried out in Europe, placing the patient at the center of everything TEVA does and with a firm, transparent and ethical commitment to society and the environment.The opportunityThe Associate Director, Local Compliance Officer Spain is responsible for developing and executing Teva’s Global Compliance & Ethics (“GC&E”) Program in Spain and will report to the Director, South-East Europe Lead LCO. The LCO Spain will serve as a business partner and compliance advisor to local management and the multiple business areas that comprise Teva Spain, including Commercial and Teva Global Operations (Teva’s manufacturing site in Zaragoza, Spain).How you’ll spend your day
- Lead, drive, and manage all aspects of Teva Spain’s compliance program, with a particular emphasis on:
- Code of Conduct
- Anti-corruption and anti-bribery
- Industry Codes
- Healthcare compliance
- Corporate compliance (privacy, conflicts of interest, trade sanctions, etc.)
- Maintain appropriate independence and objectivity in order to provide an assessment of potential risks faced by the organization
- Partner with key stakeholders to provide business-oriented and pragmatic guidance that enables the company to achieve its goals in a compliant and ethical manner
- Extensive collaboration and teamwork with appropriate Regional C&E, Legal, Medical Affairs, HR, Global Internal Audit, Regulatory, Sales, Training and Marketing and other relevant stakeholders by participating in cross functional teams and provide insights, risk mitigation guidance and corrective action
- Managing the process of ensuring that core elements of an effective compliance program are implemented and working as designed across both Commercial functions and Teva’s manufacturing site, including but not limited to:
- Implement and update compliance policies, procedures and processes
- Perform activity risk-assessment, develop, implement and execute a Compliance monitoring plan. Regularly inform local management team about monitoring results and ensure adequate remediation and action items
- Support Spanish Compliance Committee and ensure regular meetings as a key body for Compliance risk assessment and mitigation
- Support Global Compliance & Ethics initiatives and support investigations
- Conduct training as necessary or required
- Champion Teva’s Values, Principles, and Code of Conduct
- Review, approve, and monitor activities involving healthcare professionals, healthcare organizations, patient organizations, and government officials
- Manage Third Party Due Diligence with stakeholders
- Be an active member of the Spanish management team as well as the European Compliance & Ethics team.
Your experience and qualificationsEducation/Certification/Experience:
- Typically
10 years’ professional experience of which 5+ years of Compliance experience, preferably as Compliance officer in the pharmaceutical industry. Additional experience in other control functions such as legal, regulatory, audit or finance is welcome * University degree, education or background in Compliance, Legal, Accounting or other relevant fields
- Good understanding of local pharma industry and applicable laws and regulations, as well as understanding of or interest in other compliance subject matters
- Experienced in advising management and other stakeholders on compliance and local industry code and related requirements regarding healthcare compliance and government officials or entities
- Experienced in developing and implementing policies and processes
- Experienced in conducting assessments, monitoring and internal investigations
- Experienced in managing, developing and conducting training
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of rules and requirements regarding healthcare compliance and interactions with healthcare professionals, healthcare organizations and governmental officials
- Extensive knowledge of corporate compliance topics (anti-corruption and anti-bribery) and essential elements of a robust compliance programs
- Well-developed business acumen and extensive knowledge of the Spanish pharmaceutical industry, e.g., Sales, Marketing, Market Access and related regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with demonstrated ability in participating in cross-functional, multi-cultural teams and interaction with business partners and stakeholders
- Preferably demonstrated people-management experience
- Ability to advise management on complex issues objectively and confidently
- Ability to work independently
- Training and presenting skills to various audiences
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Fluent in Spanish (speaking and writing)
- Good in English (speaking and writing)
