This means we’re opening up new ways to work, pioneering ground breaking methods and bringing unexpected teams together.Data Scientists in the Clinical Data Science team work directly on Vaccines & Immune Therapies projects in collaboration with clinicians, translational scientists and statisticians. We use machine learning, predictive modelling, and visualisation to support delivery of our clinical trial pipeline across early and late phases of development, including:
- Developing statistical and machine learning models to accelerate decision making, both internally and externally
- Building simulations to support innovative trial designs
- Inventing and implementing novel analytical techniques to analyse internal data
- Developing and driving adoption of best practises in the analysis of clinical data
- Consulting with subject matter experts to understand their analytical needs, ensure analyses are fit for purpose, and that the insights derived are clearly communicated.
As a Senior Data Scientist within the team, your key responsibilities will be:
- Deliver data science and machine learning projects to address specific clinically driven questions
- Regular meetings with internal customers to promote discussion and adapt analyses to enable new insights based on findings
- Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations
- Develop, test, implement and refine methods with a software engineering approach
- Collaborate with a diverse range of partners, enabling effective consensus, conflict resolution and alignment to project goals
Essential requirements
- PhD or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, the physical sciences or related subject
- Demonstrated knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or relevant field
- Track record of collaborating successfully with customers and delivery of impactful data science projects
- Experienced in Python
