Contract Duration: To be determinedA roster of suitable candidates may be established for this post as a result of this selection process for fixed-term appointments against both established posts and positions funded by general temporary assistance (GTA).Organisational ContextUnder the leadership of the Prosecutor and Deputy Prosecutors the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) has multiple Unified Teams (UTs) dedicated to the investigation or prosecution of situations and cases. Under the leadership of the Head of the Unified Team (HUT) the UTs gather investigators, analysts, lawyers, an International Cooperation Adviser, one or more Associate Country Expert and other staff as required. Senior Coordinators support OTP leadership and HUTs in their management of the UTs, including planning, professional standards and recruitment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the overall guidance of the Head of the Unified Team (HUT), the incumbent is expected to support the Unified Team with the following duties:
Essential QualificationsEducation:Advanced university degree, preferably in law, social sciences, national history or in another field related to the specific geographical situation, is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience is accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.Experience:A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience with an advanced degree (four with a first level university degree), working in the context of a geographical region or in relation to the relevant situation.Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of languages:Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is required. Working knowledge of the other is considered an asset. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.Knowledge of one or more languages related to one of the situations under investigation is required, including Pashto or Farsi (Afghanistan), Burmese or Rohingya (Bangladesh/Myanmar), Arabic (Palestine, Libya and Sudan), Hebrew (Palestine), Tagalog (Philippines), Spanish (Venezuela), Ukrainian and Russian (Ukraine).NOTES:This is a recruitment process to support the Unified Teams for the situations of Afghanistan, Bangladesh/Myanmar, Darfur (Sudan), Palestine, Philippines, Venezuela and Ukraine.
