Our client has an opportunity within their Winchester office for an Associate Civil Engineer to join their team. They have extensive experience delivering a comprehensive range of civil engineering design, procurement, coordination and project management services to support clients through the whole project life cycle. They offer a full multidiscipline service or standalone specialist technical services.

In this role you will play an extremely important role with delivering innovative solutions for our client’s whilst developing and strengthening our Civil Engineering team not only within the Winchester office but throughout the entire civils discipline.

The role

* Leading, managing and growing the civil engineering discipline
* Manage existing clients and develop further opportunities.
* Look to grow the group on the back of new and repeat clients.
* Be responsible for delivering work to a pre-agreed budget.
* Project profitability (monitoring / planning of costs and budgets).
* Responsible for negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees.
* Construct teams from internal and external resources.
* Be responsible for resourcing and delivering to a financial target.
* To ensure that the business generates and sustains profitable sources of income that are serviced to a standard that meets the requirements of the client and the internal standards of the Partnership.
* Day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines within the office.
* Represent the company at external meetings with clients and fellow professionals.
* Lead the technical development of the group.

What you need to succeed

* Degree qualified within Civil Engineering.
* A minimum of 7 years UK experience within a design consultancy.
* Chartered Engineer or near Chartered.
* Good understanding of technical software such as Civil 3D, AutoTrack, industry standard software.
* Experience working with residential developers.
* Knowledge of UK planning procedures and ability to provide technical support to secure planning approval.
* Experience with managing and developing a civil engineering team/discipline.
