Offer DescriptionWroclaw University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Metal Forming, Welding and Metrology (K60W10D07) is looking for a candidate for the position of research and didactic assistant in the field of engineering and technical sciences, in the scientific discipline of mechanical engineering, with the ability:

• knowledge of welding technology, especially of thermal spray processes,
• knowledge of diagnostic systems dedicated to welding processes, especially to thermal spray processes,
• knowledge of fluid dynamics and practical experience with numerical modelling of fluid dynamics

• teaching students,
• didactic materials preparation,

Specific Requirements

• Master of Science in the field of: mechatronics, robotics and automatization, machine building or related
• predispositions for didactic and research work
• ability to conduct didactic classes in Polish and English,
• ability to prepare didactic materials, scientific publications and synthetic reports,
• very good knowledge of English
• diligence, scrupulousness and ability to work in a team,
• carry out research under supervision;
• have the ambition to develop knowledge of research methodologies and discipline;
• have demonstrated a good understanding of a field of study;
• have demonstrated the ability to produce data under supervision;
• be capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas;
• be able to explain the outcome of research (and value thereof) to research colleagues.

*If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector’s consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.Selection processApplication documents in Polish or English should be sent:

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 11:00 on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Receipt of the documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the assistant/HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.
Candidates’ applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the assistant/HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.
Before establishing an employment relationship with the person who wins the competition, Wrocław University of Science and Technology will verify them in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 13 May 2016 on Counteracting Sexual Crime Threats and Protecting Minors. Data necessary for this verification (PESEL number or, in the absence thereof, maiden name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth) will be obtained only from the selected person and should not be provided at the application stage.
The University stipulates that the competition may not be concluded.
