Assistant Town Planner

Location: Stratford-upon-Avon, UK
Position: Assistant Planner

My client, a well-regarded town planning consultancy based in Stratford-upon-Avon, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team. The company works on a diverse range of planning projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, with a focus on delivering high-quality planning solutions for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with preparing and submitting planning applications, including supporting documentation and design statements.
* Conduct site appraisals and research, including policy assessments and feasibility studies.
* Provide advice and guidance on planning matters to clients and colleagues.
* Support senior planners in the preparation of planning reports and statements.
* Monitor planning policies and emerging legislation, ensuring projects comply with local and national planning regulations.
* Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for client meetings, public consultations, and planning committees.

Key Skills and Experience:

* A degree in Planning, Geography, or a related field.
* Some experience or placement experience in planning (preferred but not essential).
* A strong interest in planning law, policy, and development.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning-related software.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* An understanding of local planning policy and the Stratford-upon-Avon area would be beneficial.
