Offer DescriptionThe Symbiosis Evolution Group at the Institute of Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Biology of the Jagiellonian University is looking for candidates for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher (Postdoc). The proposed project will be employed within the Polish National Science Centre (NCN) project “The evolutionary dynamics of the symbioses of Auchenorrhyncha”, aiming to characterize factors and processes shaping the specialized symbioses of sap-feeding hemipterans. The successful candidate will be responsible for laboratory and bioinformatics analyzes of data related to diversity of symbiotic microorganisms associated with insects.Where to apply E-mailp.lukasik@uj.edu.plRequirementsResearch Field Biological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsEssential requirements:– Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related field– Documented experience with molecular biology techniques– Documented experience with statistical data analysis, especially NGS– Fluency in English– Favorable opinions of current or recent scientific supervisors about the candidate’s abilities and predisposition for scientific workAdditional criteria taken into account:– Documented research interests and scientific achievements related to the planned project, in particular regarding the diversity and biology of host-symbiont interactions
