This assistant professorship offers the opportunity to work in a creative and international and interdisciplinary environment, focusing on functional operation of neuronal networks controlling homeostatic brain states and movement (https://in.ku.dk/research/ole-kiehn/). The laboratory is part of the Department of Neuroscience at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and is composed of a diverse and inclusive group that nurtures teamwork. The assistant professor position focuses on experimentally investigating the role of hypothalamic circuits regulation of homeostatic states and their integration with movement. The experimental approach relies heavily on in vivo techniques, such as mouse genetics, stereotaxic surgeries, imaging, optogenetic and chemogenetic manipulations, and viral tracing strategies. Place of employment
The place of employment is at the Department of Neuroscience, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Our research facilities include modern laboratories in the Mærsk Tower and in the Panum Institute.Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The start date is March 1, 2025.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 38.575,89 DKK/approx. 5.100
EUR (April 2024 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
