Offer DescriptionLudwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy is seeking an Assistant Professor in the Laboratory Instrumental Analysis and Preparation. The candidate should meet the following requirements: have a doctoral degree in the field of natural sciences in the discipline of biological sciences, specializing in microbiology or related fields, have at least 5 years of experience in conducting scientific research in a microbiological or biochemical laboratory, have experience in experiments using animal models, cell lines and immune cells, flow cytometry, cell separation, in DNA manipulation techniques, isolation and characterisation of bacterial cell structures, in protein separation and immunochemical techniques and in chromatographic (LC, GC), spectrometric (ESI, MALDI) and proteomic techniques.The position will involve the following duties: active participation in scientific research – conducting research (designing, performing, documenting and delegating experiments), publication of results in journals (publication writing), acquiring grants and participation in conferences, mentoring students and young scientific staff, active participation in the scientific life of the Institute.RequirementsResearch Field Biological sciences » Biology Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsThe candidate for the position of an assistant professor in the Laboratory of Instrumental Analysis and Preparation should meet the following requirements: * have a doctoral degree in the field of natural sciences in the discipline of biological sciences, specializing in microbiology or related fields,

• have at least 5 years of experience in conducting scientific research in a microbiological or biochemical laboratory,
• have scientific achievements confirmed by publications in journals from the Philadelphia list in the field of microbiology and immunology, including at least 3 publication with first authorship,
• know English at a level enabling scientific work (technical vocabulary, communication with the scientific community, preparation of manuscripts, presentations, grant projects),
• have knowledge in the field of microbiology and immunology,
• have skills allowing for conducting experiments on animal models (higher animals insect models) as well as obtaining biological material for further ex vivo analyses,
• have experience in designing and conducting in vitro experiments using cell lines and immune cells,
• have knowledge and skills in DNA manipulation techniques: DNA isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, transformation,
• have knowledge and skills in the techniques of isolation and characterization of bacterial cell structures (proteins, lipopolysaccharide, capsule),
• have knowledge and skills in protein separation techniques: SDS-PAGE, 2-DE and immunochemical techniques: Western-blot, ELISA,
• possess knowledge and skills in chromatographic (LC, GC), spectrometric (ESI, MALDI) and proteomic techniques, flow cytometry and magnetic separation of immune cells,
• demonstrate active participation in scientific life, in particular in carrying out scientific research, obtaining grants, and participating in national and international conferences,
• have experience in managing and implementing scientific and research projects,
• confirmed completion of internships in foreign scientific institutions (min. 2 years),
• have the ability to work in a team, high motivation to work independently, responsibility for assigned tasks.
